Some key metrics to watch for to ensure your nails are to code
3ΒΌβ³ Power-Tool Driven Coil or Strip Framing Nails
π Length: 3ΒΌβ³ Β± 3β32β³ (82.55 mm Β± 2.38 mm)
βοΈ Shank Diameter: 0.120β³ Β± 0.004β³
πͺ Shank Type: Smooth or deformed (ring, screw, spiral)
π© Head: Altered round or T-head (must fit tool magazine)
βοΈ Point: Diamond or chisel (per purchaser spec)
π§² Material: Carbon steel, stainless steel, or aluminum alloy
π§ͺ Ductility: Bend test per ASTM F680 (180Β° for unhardened, 20Β° for hardened)
π¨ Finish: Bright, zinc-coated (A641/A153), mechanical zinc (B695), or HDG (A153)
β Workmanship: Straight, clean, burr-free, uniform collation
π·οΈ Marking: Package must show spec, size, shank, material, finish, and count
π Gauge = Shank Diameter
